When Should My Child See an Orthodontist?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children should have an orthodontic screening at age 7. This allows our doctors to determine if orthodontic treatment will be required and the best time for the patient to be treated.

We needed to consult for years prior to braces due to mouth structure, and another orthodontist in town wanted braces/hardware on 2 years earlier. Journey team suggested waiting and so glad we did! As he grew, he did not need initial hardware suggested by others. They worked with us to have best insurance plan prior to braces for coverage and the Journey team was always friendly and helpful.
